Summer Workshops

  • This course is ideal for students taking Algebra 1 in the fall. This one-week course will ensure that students have a solid foundation of math skills that will allow them to grasp new concepts quickly and confidently. This course also includes an introduction to Algebra designed to build confidence allowing students to get the most out of their school year. Class sizes are small so instruction is targeted and focused to meet each students individual needs.

  • This course is offered in its entirety or in individual modules for student requiring particular topics only.

    If you are interested in honing your Algebra 2 skills, need some remedial work or trying to get into Calculus in the fall, this program is for you.

    Cost of the Full Course including 7 modules is $1,000 and includes 45 hours of instruction, assessments, and worksheets and assignments to be completed outside of class. Each class is 2.5 hours in length.

    Individual Modules are offered at a cost of $100/class. Modules range between 2 - 3 classes.

    Modules:

    Module 1: Linear Equations and Systems. This module includes a review of linear equations and in depth instruction on piecewise functions, graphing and solving systems of linear equalities and inequalities. 2 classes

    Module 2: Quadratic Equations and Complex Numbers. This module includes graphing quadratic functions in three forms and solving quadratic equations using graphing, square rooting, completing the square, the quadratic formula and factoring. 3 classes

    Module 3: Polynomials, Synthetic Division, Graphing and rational functions. This module includes lessons on polynomials, end behavior, finding roots, graphing and finding factors of polynomial functions. This module also includes graphing of rational functions including horizontal and vertical asymptotes, end behavior, x and y intercepts and oblique asymptotes. 3 classes

    Module 4:Rational Exponents, Complex Fractions and Exponential Functions. Students will learn about fractional exponents, review rules of exponents, synthetic and polynomial long division, graphs of exponential functions. 3 classes

    Module 5: Conic Sections. This module will explore the conic sections, their functions and graphs, including parabolas, circles, ellipses, and hyperboles. 2 classes

    Module 6:Trigonometry including Right Triangle Trig, General Angles, Radian Measure, Trigonometric Functions and Graphs, and Trig Identities. 3 classes

    Module 7: Series and Sequences including geometric and arithmetic sequences and series, recursive rules and Sums of infinite and finite series. 2 class.

  • This is 60 hour rigorous, fast paced, and comprehensive Calculus course. This class is intended only for students who have completed a full year of Algebra 2 and/or Precalculus. Each class is 3 hours and students must attend all classes. In addition, students will be expected to complete assignments and assessments between classes. Students who successfully meet the requirements of this class will be prepared to move into either AB Calculus or BC Calculus in the fall. The course is offered remotely. Students will access class through zoom links and assignments will be provided by google drive and email. This course is not offered for credit however students will receive a grade upon completion.

    This is also idea for College Students who would like relearn Calculus prior to taking a follow up business or economic class.

    This course is offered in two parts: Calculus 1 and 2. Calculus 1 is similar in format and content to a first semester college or high school calculus course. Students taking Calculus for the first time, intending to take Calculus AB or BC in the fall should take both parts.

    Cost of the class is $1,000 or $600/part.

    Calculus 1: Limits, Derivatives and Applications of Derivatives - 25 Hours of Instruction

    Calculus 2: Integration, Differential Equations, Applications of Integrals, Derivatives and Integrals of Inverse Functions. - 25 Hours of instruction

  • This is not an online course; it is taught by one of our SAT / ACT experts live each week. Students join the class via zoom and have the flexibility to miss a class and have access to the live recording. This class allows student to enjoy every week of their summer while still making the commitment to achieve their highest test scores on either the SAT or the ACT.

    Students will take two online practice test and will have access to millions of practice questions outside of class time. Six classes are dedicated to test content and strategies. Students are assigned homework based on their individual needs.

    The class meets according to the schedule below. The schedule is somewhat flexible so please let us know in the comments of the registration if there are any scheduling conflicts that we may resolve.

    Practice Test: Students should take this prior to June 25.

    July 8; Monday 9 - 11 am - Problem Solving and Data Analysis

    July 10; Wednesday 2 - 4 pm- Reading Comprehension

    Practice Test - Students are encouraged to take a second online practice test prior the actual SAT or ACT.

    Tuition: $600 - includes tuition for six live class accessed via zoom and all presentation and practice materials.
